The Commonwealth Building is an historic building, originally built in 1948 as the first large commercial building to use a flush curtain-wall design, heat pumps for heating and cooling and double-paned glass. The Commonwealth Building is home to many architectural firms who recognize the significance of the Pietro Belluschi-designed structure.

Six million dollars of improvements are completed at the building. Some of these improvements include a renovated ground floor lobby, new HVAC system and updated common areas. The improvements will return the property to its proper grandeur as an architecturally significant building.
