Wells Fargo Plaza is the anchor of the Tacoma financial district. Situated on a 90,000 square-foot city block, the building is close to the Hotel Murano, Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center, banking, theaters, museums, the YMCA and the light rail stop. The Plaza includes a 25-story office tower, a two-level landscaped plaza with a fountain, a below grade parking garage and a parking structure that connects to the office tower with an enclosed atrium walkway. Suites offer panoramic views of Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier, and the Olympics and Cascade Mountains. Wells Fargo Bank, Gordon Thomas Honeywell, Merrill Lynch, Russell Investments, and Propel call this building home. Wells Fargo Plaza opened in 1970 as the home of the National Bank of Washington (now Wells Fargo Bank). The project was initiated by a group of prominent Tacoma-based investors, including George Weyerhaeuser and Ben Cheney, and designed by the prestigious San Francisco-based architecture firm of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. |
