Unico provides the following LEED certification services:
Feasibility Report (Gap Analysis) and Preliminary LEED Scorecard
Using the LEED Scorecard as a foundation, LEED-Accredited Professional staff assesses
building systems, operations, and consumption, reports on LEED viability, and offers
suggestions for improvement.
Goal Setting and Cost-Benefit Analysis
Unico staff will meet with building ownership, management, and on-site staff to
set LEED certification targets (certified, silver, gold, platinum), discuss performance
opportunities, and develop a cost-benefit analysis for the project scope.
Eco-charrette – Stakeholder Engagement
An essential first step is to engage all relevant project stakeholders in a collaborative
project-development session. This may include representatives from the project team,
building ownership, architects, general contractors, engineering team, landscape
and janitorial vendors, and local utilities. Depending on the project scope, this
group could be expanded.
LEED-Online Registration and Facilitation
Unico will work with the project team by facilitating the registration, organization
and management of the project through the U.S. Green Building Council’s online
application module: LEED-Online.
ENERGY STAR Management
You can’t manage what you don’t measure. Unico will assist with the
creation of an ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager account and assist with optimization
of your ENERGY STAR score.
Program Development
Unico will lead the project team through a program development phase which will
include implementation of LEED-approved policies and plans, introduction of tracking
guidelines and documentation, and preparation for performance period requirements.
Performance Period
Unico will facilitate the tracking and documentation of environmental performance
during a pre-determined 3-24 month period. Also, non-performance related criteria
will be completed during this time.
Final Documentation, Submittal, and Review Process
Unico will complete an internal final review, prepare all documentation, and submit
the application for preliminary review by the U.S. Green Building Council. After
analysis of the preliminary review comments, Unico will facilitate a final review
process and submit the final LEED application.
